Amaze Studios: Open Source Lighting
A friend of mine asked if I could take photos of her dogs because she said it is difficult to find a good pet photographer. Since I have taken photographs for her family for special events, she knew that I could handle a camera and work with people, but could I extend those professional results to pet photography?
This photo couldn't have come any earlier. Unfortunately, Totau died unexpectedly about a week after this photo was taken.
I say pet photography is a natural extension for me because I just love dogs. When I was growing up, I had a Boxer. But since I moved away from home town, I travelled so much that I didn't want to keep a pet in the kennel all the time. Now that I have a son, I already have my hands full. So the next best thing is to take photos of dogs! The photographic technical aspects are the same when it comes to lighting and composure, but it is knowing how to handle and work with dogs that is key.
Just like people, dogs have feelings too. They need to trust me as a photographer before I can get capture the true nature of their personality on camera. If you are interested in my pet photography services, please visit my rates section for detailed information.
